"The Magnificent Seven" unveils star-studded first trailer (video)

PanARMENIAN.Net - The first full trailer for "The Magnificent Seven" remake has been released by Sony Pictures Entertainment. The new footage highlights the seven mercenaries, two of them are Denzel Washington's Sam Chisolm and Chris Pratt's Josh Farraday, who are teaming up to fight the bad guys, AceShowbiz said.

The video opens with Washington's Sam Chisolm shooting people in an eatery. Another scene shows Haley Bennett's Emma Cullen who recruits him to fight alongside her fellow townspeople. She says in a voiceover, "I seek righteousness, but I'll take revenge." Another scene shows Chisolm and Pratt's Farraday assembling the other five outlaws. There are also glimpses of explosive scenes.

"The Magnificent Seven" is set in the town of Rose Creek which is under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Peter Sarsgaard). The desperate townspeople employ protection from seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns, as they prepare the town for the violent showdown that they know is coming. These seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than money.

The action film is a remake of the classic John Sturges 1960 western film inspired by Akira Kurosawa's 1954 film "Seven Samurai". Vincent D'Onofrio, Ethan Hawke, Lee Byung Hun, Martin Sensmeier and Manuel Garcia-Rulfi round up the seven titular mercenaries. Helmed by Antoine Fuqua who directed Washington in "The Equalizer", the remake is also supported by Luke Grimes and Matthew Bomer. "The Magnificent Seven" is set for a September 23, 2017 U.S. release.
