Magnitude 6.1 earthquake hits off southern Australia July 25, 2016 - 15:14 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A 6.1-magnitude earthquake has struck off the southern coast of Australia, according to Geoscience Australia, The Independent reports. Preliminary information said the quake had a depth of 15km. The quake struck 1,704km off the coast of Queenstown at 8.58am GMT. The US Geological Survey (USGS) put the quake at 5.9, with a depth of 10km. The quake was previously reported to be "potentially tsunamigenic," but there is no longer thought to be a tsunami risk.
