Aubrey Plaza, Elizabeth Olsen to star in “Ingrid Goes West” indie

PanARMENIAN.Net - Aubrey Plaza and Elizabeth Olsen are set to star in the indie film “Ingrid Goes West”, Variety reports.

Matt Spicer is on board to direct from a script he co-wrote with David Branson Smith.

Plaza will produce the dark comedy along with Jared Ian Goldman, Star Thrower Entertainment’s Tim and Trevor White, and Adam and Robert Mirels through their newly formed 141 Entertainment.

Mary Solomon, Rick Rickertsen, and Allan Mandelbaum will executive produce.

The film follows Ingrid Thorburn (played by Plaza), a mentally unstable young woman who becomes obsessed with Taylor Sloane (Olsen), a social media “influencer” with a seemingly-perfect life. When Ingrid decides to drop everything and move to the West Coast to befriend Taylor in real life, her behavior turns unsettling and increasingly dangerous.

Plaza is best known for her role as April Ludgate in NBC’s “Parks and Recreation,” and can currently be seen in “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” opposite Zac Efron, Adam Devine, and Anna Kendrick. She is repped by CAA, MGMT Entertainment, and Schreck Rose Dapello & Adams.

Olsen recently starred in “Captain America: Civil War.” She is repped by The Gersh Agency and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

“Ingrid Goes West” marks Spicer’s feature directorial debut. He was just set to write a reboot of “The Rocketeer” for Disney. Spicer is represented by CAA and Management 360.
