Christopher Nolan's WWII thriller “Dunkirk” unveils 1st teaser trailer

PanARMENIAN.Net - The official trailer for highly-anticipated "Dunkirk" was set to be released on Friday, August 5 alongside "Suicide Squad" film. But after a portion of the footage leaked online, Warner Bros. released the first teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan's World War II thriller a day ahead of the schedule, AceShowbiz said.

Set against a tense score, the video gives a first look at the soldiers on the bleak French coastline ahead of the famous 1940 Dunkirk evacuation. The one-minute footage also provides dramatic text which reads, "At the point of crisis, at the point of annihilation, survival is victory." At the end of the video, the allied troops on the boat recoil in fear at the sound of incoming aircraft flying above them.

"Dunkirk" revolves around allied soldiers from Belgium, Britain and France who are surrounded by the German army and evacuated during a fierce battle in World War II. The upcoming film taps Fionn Whitehead as the main character and Harry Styles in a mystery role. Meanwhile, big names in the cast ensemble include the likes of Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance and Kenneth Branagh.

Nolan directs the film from a script he wrote. He also serves as producer along with his wife Emma Thomas. The epic action thriller hits U.S. theaters on July 21, 2017.
