Trampolene roll out new mini album featuring The Libertines

PanARMENIAN.Net - Trampolene, who are fronted by The Libertines tour poet Jack Jones, released a mini album named Pocket Album Four through Mi7 Records, Gigwise said.

The album, which has just entered the UK Rock chart at number 13, features the Jack Jones poem 'To Be A Libertine', which, remarkably, features contributions from all four Libertines members along with some of their fans.

A Roger Sargent directed video to this fantastic piece has been unveiled, too, and it features moody slow motion footage of Jack Jones opening for The Libertines at 02 arena London, and is - as ever with Sargent - a stunning piece of visual content, Gigwise said.

Jack Jones had this to say: "Carl, Peter, Gary & John heard me doing the poem at the O2 & really liked it...so when I went to Vienna with them I asked if they would recite the poem into my phone, they all obliged with a smile and a wink like always.

"Afterwards, I thought it would be good to get fans of different nationalities reciting lines as well...how brilliant would it feel to be on the same recording as your heroes...then I finished it off in the Albert Hall in Manchester by getting Miki from Peter’s band to play violin behind it...again recorded on my phone."

Elsewhere on the mini-album, which was recorded live at Konk Studios which Ray Davies from The Kinks owns, is the Radio 1 and Radio X backed single ‘The Gangway’. Also, there's 'Tom Hardy’, a paean to a mythical star’s mind-boggling achievements, inspired by the idle boasts of singer Jack Jones’ school friend in Swansea. Furthermore, there's a raucous live rendition of the Cure classic, ‘Friday I’m In Love’ (recorded for a Radio X Session) and acoustic heartbreaker ‘Letting You Down'."

This is remarkable progress from the band and Jack Jones, who came in to the Gigwise office for a superb poetry/music session late last year when he was relatively unknown, Gigwise said.

Over the last few months things has taken off and his band have played many major music festivals. Meanwhile, as a solo act he's supported Peter Doherty on a UK tour in May, and opened for The Libertines on numerous occasions. This wordsmith, who John Cooper Clarke says has “Exceptional poetry, funny and depressing at the same time", has a bright future indeed, Gigwise said.
