Oscilloscope Laboratories acquires “Lost in Paris” romantic comedyAugust 30, 2016 - 13:04 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Oscilloscope Laboratories has acquired U.S. rights to filmmakers Dominique Abel and Fiona Gordon’s romantic comedy “Lost in Paris” for a 2017 release, Variety reports. Abel and Gordon have previously collaborated on “L’Iceberg,” “Rumba,” and “The Fairy.” They produced, through their Courage Mon Amour Films, directed, and starred in “Lost in Paris.” The filmmakers portray a small-town Canadian librarian and a strangely seductive, oddly egotistical vagabond in “Lost in Paris.” When the librarian’s orderly life is disrupted by a letter of distress from Paris from her 93-year-old aunt — portrayed by Emmanuelle Riva — she hops on the first plane to Paris only to discover that the aunt has disappeared. She encounters an affable, but annoying tramp who just won’t leave her alone. Oscilloscope’s Dan Berger said, “We live in an unpredictable and often sad world. In addition to its copious other merits and beautiful execution, ‘Lost in Paris’ is foremost such a joyful and heartening film to watch. It’s filled with love and levity and its story is shouldered by severely under-represented people who deserve a voice at a time when demagogues strive to take that away.” The film was co-produced by CG Cinema (“Clouds of Sils Marie”) Moteur s’il Vous Plaît (“The Conquerors”), and Courage Mon Amour Films. The agreement was brokered by MK2 International. Top stories Paris Center Pompidou Musée National d’Art Moderne will host the screening of Sergei Parajanov’s "Triptych" on December 15.
