iPhone 7 Plus lands with 2 cameras on the back

PanARMENIAN.Net - They say bigger is better, and when it comes to the new iPhone's that looks set to be the case, with the iPhone 7 Plus adding a couple of cool new features missing from its smaller sibling, Digital Spy said.

Chief amongst these is a new dual-lens camera, with the doubled up snapper set to enhance overall image quality by capturing two individual exposures before merging them together for a more well-rounded image.

The two 12-megapixel cameras are split with one handling wide angle shots while the other looks after closeup snaps thats to its telephoto lens. This means you can zoom optically without any image-degrading digital zoom.

Dubbed "the best iPhone ever" by CEO Tim Cook, the eagerly awaited handset landed alongside the new Apple Watch 2 during Apple's September 7 keynote event.

The phone, which like its little brother the iPhone 7 is IP67 dust and water resistant meaning you no need to worry about spilt drinks and accidental toilet drops, features a number of subtle design improvements, including a high gloss jet black finish with subtle antenna lines, the handset replaces the iPhone 6S Plus.

As well as the gloss black and matt black models, the handset, which still plays host to its Touch ID packing home button that's been revolutionised to boast impressive Force Touch features, will also be available in silver, gold and rose gold options.

On to the screen, and although resolution hasn't been bumped the 5.5-inch Retina HD display is now 25% brighter than its predecessor and offers a wider colour gamut. Last year's 3D Touch introduced element also makes another appearance.

Beneath the surface, the new A10 Fusion chip offer 3x more power than its processor - also known as more power than you're ever likely to need - while a larger battery offers an extra hour's staying power compared with last year's model. Storage has also been boosted with the 16GB unit out and new 32GB, 128GB and 256GB in.

That's the additions, now for what's missing, and the headphone jack has been left out. Instead, Apple will bundle the phone with a new pair of Lightning connecting EarPods and a free 3.5mm to Lightning connection adaptor, Digital Spy said.

Running iOS 10 direct from the box, the iPhone 7 Plus will be made available for pre-order this Friday, September 9, with in-store sales to start a week later on September 16.
