Roadside Attractions nabs Israeli comedy “Through the Wall” September 10, 2016 - 14:06 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Roadside Attractions is in final negotiations to acquire the U.S. and Canadian rights to the Israeli comedy “Through the Wall”, Variety reports. The movie premiered at the Venice Film Festival and played at Telluride. The story centers on a 32-year-old religious woman about to get married when, a month before the wedding, her groom has a change of heart. The woman, unwilling to go back to her life before the engagement, decides to test her resolve and unwavering faith and keep the wedding date. The film is a 2016 nominee for an Ophir, the Israeli Academy Award. The romantic comedy is directed by Rama Burshtein and produced by Assaf Amir, who teamed on “Fill the Void,” which won the Coppa Volpi at Venice, two Film Independent Spirit Awards nominations in the U.S., and the 2012 Ophir in Israel for best picture. The film is produced by Norma productions and stars Noa Koler, Amos Tamam, Oz Zehavi, Irit Sheleg Roni Merhavi, and Dafi Alpern. News of the deal was first reported by Deadline Hollywood.
