Adidas launches its first shoe produced by robotsSeptember 23, 2016 - 11:48 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - With Nike recently announcing the release date of its Back to the Future-style self-tying shoes, the sports brand once again propelled itself to the forefront of innovation and captured our feeble minds. Trust rival Adidas, then, to steal some of the thunder with an equally cool announcement, Digital Spy said. Just months after it opened its Speed Factory, the German company has now revealed the first shoe designed in its robot-filled facility. The shoe is named the Futurecraft MFG (standing for 'Made For Germany'), which, while sounding like a stereotypical spaceship, we can actually see is a sleek running shoe that's made from Adidas's Primeknit material and polystyrene-like Boost midsole. It's not all a robot operation, though, as the video above indicates. While most of the legwork is done by machines, we simple humans still assist during the assembly cycle. Adidas also noted that this is only the beginning of its robotic takeover shoe plans, with more products expected to drop before the year is out. If you are planning on copping the Futurecraft MFG, you're going to need some luck on your side - only 500 pairs will be made available, while the price has not been released, Digital Spy said.
