Robert Redford’s “Come Sunday” adds cast

PanARMENIAN.Net - Danny Glover is joining Robert Redford in Netflix's Come Sunday, the film inspired by the true-story of an evangelical minister, The Hollywood Reporter reveals.

Joshua Marston (Maria Full of Grace) is directing the film, which will also star Chiwetel Ejiofor.

The film is based on a This American Life episode from 2005 chronicling the story of Carlton Pearson (Ejiofor), a renowned evangelical minister in Tulsa, Okla., who stirs up controversy with his revelation that there is no hell. He loses everything and must rebuild his church and his family and find his own personal faith. Redford is set to play televangelist Oral Roberts.

Glover will play Gilbert Pearson, who is Carlson Pearson's uncle.

Marcus Hinchey (All Good Things) wrote the screenplay.

Endgame's James D. Stern is producing Come Sunday alongside This American Life's Ira Glass and Alissa Shipp. Color Force's Brad Simpson, who was involved in the project when Marc Forster was developing it, is executive producing. Julie Goldstein and Lucas Smith are overseeing the project for Endgame.

Glover's recent projects include Dirty Grandpa and indie Mr. Pig. He's got a slew of projects coming up including Paramount's Monster Trucks with Rob Lowe and Amy Ryan.
