Bastille unleash visuals to “Send Them Off”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Bastille have unleashed the visuals to 'Send Them Off' taken from their album Wild World which went number one in 20 countries, Gigwise reports.

The label explain the concept of the video: "We see the lead characters decent into a hellish underworld with twisting Domdaniel like corridors, nightmarish scenes and the shadow of Pazuzu-esque demon round every corner. With occult undertones that are reminiscent of scenes from Eyes Wide Shut and Rosemary’s Baby, we see Bastille put a very modern twist on Dante’s Divine Comedy."

The references work well and it's a level of artistry and massive budget spend that a band living through the most successful period of their career so far should have, Gigwise said.

Elsewhere, singer Dan Smith has spoken out about the theme behind Wild World: "If our first album was about growing up and the anxieties surrounding it" Smith explains, “Our second is about trying to make sense of the world around you, both as you see it and as it’s presented to you through the media. It’s also about asking questions of the world and of the people in it. We wanted the album to be a bit disorientating - at times extroverted and introverted, light and dark."

The band head out on a huge UK tour that is the most successful selling by any British act this year.
