Miles Teller’s "Bleed for This" nabs November release dateOctober 5, 2016 - 16:51 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Open Road Films has set Nov. 18 as the wide-release launch for boxing biopic “Bleed for This”, starring Miles Teller as boxer Vinny Paz and Aaron Eckhart as his trainer Kevin Rooney, Variety reports. Open Road had previously announced a limited launch on Nov. 4. The wide release will open against Warner Bros.’ Harry Potter spinoff “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” and STX Entertainment’s teen comedy “The Edge of Seventeen.” Open Road picked up rights at Cannes and “Bleed for This” premiered at the Telluride Film Festival. Variety‘s Peter Debruge said in his review, “Teller is terrific, which should come as no surprise to ‘Whiplash’ fans.” Paz is best known for making a triumphant return to the boxing ring after he broke his neck in three places in a traffic accident in 1991 while he was at the peak of his career. Against doctors’ orders, Paz returned to the gym with his metal halo still on, began working out and eventually won three more titles and went on to retire with a 50-10 record. Producers are Bruce Cohen, Emma Tillinger Koskoff, Ben Younger, Chad Verdi, and Noah Kraft. Martin Scorsese is executive producing along with Myles Nestel and Lisa Wilson of the Solution Entertainment Group, which is handling all international rights.
