Matthew McConaughey discovers a gold mine in new “Gold” teaser

PanARMENIAN.Net - A new teaser for Matthew McConaughey-starring flick "Gold (2016)" has been released for fans' viewing pleasure, AceShowbiz said. It shows the Oscar-winning actor as Kenny Wells, a failing businessman and modern-day prospector desperate to get back on his feet.

The video opens with Kenny saying, "I had a dream. It was like I was being called. That was a gold calling... Gold." He continues, "It was 88. I lost my house. I lost everything. Most people would have been dead, but not me. I had a dream."

One scene shows him teaming up with Edgar Ramirez's Michael Acosta to find gold by going deep into uncharted jungles of Indonesia (Borneo). "We got a gold mine," they say. "It's amazing how a little gold dust can just change everything," Kenny adds. "For better or for worse the ride had begun. And what a god damn ride."

Directed by Stephen Gaghan, "Gold" is based on a true story of the Bre-X Mineral Corporation mining scandal and is set in the early '90s. The film centers on Kenny Wells, a struggling businessman who is trying to get back on his feet. He later teams up with a luckless geologist in an effort to find gold deep in the uncharted jungles of Indonesia.

Written by Patrick Massett and John Zinman, the movie is set to be released this year on December 25 in U.S. theaters. It also stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Toby Kebbell, Corey Stoll, Rachael Taylor, Bruce Greenwood, Stacy Keach, Bill Camp and Joshua Harto.
