Snapchat getting rid of Stories featureOctober 10, 2016 - 15:56 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Snapchat is a great platform for when you need instant audiovisual updates about what your mates are doing without you or who your ex is suddenly spending time with. Unfortunately, it has a tendency to act a little like Facebook by constantly updating its feed and features just when you've got the hang of things. After all, nobody needs another sticker update, do they? This time, though, the company is thankfully set to roll out an update which will finally end one of the most annoying aspects of the app, Digital Spy said. That's right, just months after introducing the feature, autoplaying stories are soon set to be removed in a surprising U-turn from the company, Digital Spy said. Snap Inc gave a pretty honest assessment in a blog post announcing the changes, saying: "When we first built Auto Advance we wanted to make it easier to catch up with your friends by playing all of your Stories in recent updates back-to-back. "Unfortunately, this change made it impossible to individually choose which Story to watch. Sometimes we just want to see what our close friends or family are up to - not all of our friends - and Auto Advance prevented that." While the initial move was likely to also encourage more views for publishers, as well as those forgotten friends, it quickly became a nuisance having to pay close attention to the snap ring. We all faced the dreaded feeling of accidentally rolling onto someone's story that you'd been avoiding, Digital Spy said. Instead, the autoplaying will be replaced by Stories Playlist, which will let you personalise who you want to watch in order. Users simply have to tap on the Story thumbnail to the left of your friend's name to add a Story to their playlist before hitting the play button at the bottom of the screen to watch.
