Bots are now able to help you learn a new languageOctober 12, 2016 - 12:07 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Learning a new language can be a tricky business - it takes commitment, time and the ability to grasp a bunch of rules that make even less sense than those forming the shaky pillars of English. As it turns out, though, bots can now be used to help you become a bilingual master. For the pro-bot among you looking to become fluent in Spanish, German or French, free client Duolingo and its new chatbots feature can finally help arm you for the real-world barrier of a different tongue, Digital Spy said. The bots are to help you improve on more practical aspects of a language, meaning you can practise ordering food, trying to direct a taxi driver and asking for a bigger size in that shirt you like, Digital Spy said. Duolingo CEO Luis von Ahn said in a statement: "One of the main reasons people learn languages is to have conversations. Students master vocabulary and comprehension skills with Duolingo, but coming up with things to say in real-life situations remains daunting. Bots offer a sophisticated and effective answer to that need." The move is a solid one for those not looking for the potential embarrassment of a classroom or tutor scenario, with several bots available to help ease your transition into the real world. Those using the iOS version of Duolingo can immediately begin chatting to Renée the Driver, Chef Roberto and Officer Ada, with more bots set to be added soon alongside a range of other languages.
