Samsung could release two different versions of Galaxy S8October 13, 2016 - 14:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - With Samsung having one of the all-time technology shockers with the now-discontinued Galaxy Note 7, the company will no doubt be planning a quick route back to the top of the smartphone tree. While many have speculated it'll do so through an earlier release of the upcoming Galaxy S8, a fresh rumour instead suggests that Sammy will launch two powerful and very different versions of the flagship to challenge Apple, Digital Spy reveals. According to a leaker from Weibo, the Galaxy S8 will come in the same 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch sizes as the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, but this time both versions will have a curved screen. This echoes reports we've previously heard about Samsung switching to an all-curved lineup, with the 5.5-inch variant also allegedly set to offer a dual-lens camera - another whisper circling the web, Digital Spy said. In terms of screen specs, the 5.1-inch model is tipped to pack a QHD resolution, while the 5.5-inch version will rock an impressive 4K screen. The final leak from this menagerie is related to the processing power, with some versions of the S8 tipped to house a Snapdragon 830 processor while others versions will make use of an Exynos 8895. This kind of power has been consistently hinted at in Sammy's next major release for some time, but just how true this particular shower of info is remains to be seen. The company will likely announce the phone in February next year. Top stories Yerevan will host the 2024 edition of the World Congress On Information Technology (WCIT).
