Joseph Gordon-Levitt starring in sci-fi movie “Sovereign”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Joseph Gordon-Levitt has come on board the science-fiction thriller “Sovereign”, to be directed by British filmmaker Marc Munden, Variety reports.

Producers are Shawn Levy, Dan Levine and Dan Cohen through their 21 Laps Entertainment company. Nick Meyer’s Sierra/Affinity is financing the project and will oversee international sales.

Munden will direct from a script that’s being re-written by Jack Thorne from a draft by Geoff Tock and Gregory Weidman. Gordon-Levitt will portray a man whose marriage has disintegrated and seeks to locate his wife and the crew of a space station after they disappear.

Executive producers are Meyer and Marc Schaberg of Sierra/Affinity along with Kelly McCormick and Gordon-Levitt.

Gordon-Levitt stars in Oliver Stone’s “Snowden” as the whistleblower Edward Snowden. He’s in development on “Fraggle Rock” at New Regency and Universal’s “In Sight.”

Munden’s credits include Channel 4’s TV mini-series “National Treasure,” starring Robbie Coltrane, and directing episodes British TV series “Utopia” and “The Crimson Petal and the White.” Thorne is adapting Philip Pullman’s fantasy trilogy “His Dark Materials” for BBC One, New Line Cinema and Bad Wolf.
