Government wants new company to facilitate export of agro produceOctober 22, 2016 - 15:04 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A special company tasked with finding markets for the Armenian agricultural produce will be established, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said Saturday, October 22. Visiting Yerevan-Expo Center which is currently hosting the ArmProd EXPO 2016, Karapetyan stressed the importance of employing modern technologies in the production process, adding that the government is ready to support the business entities. The fair aims to present agricultural products and possibilities of processing raw materials, assess the competitiveness of the produce, expand export opportunities and establish business contacts, also displaying high-quality agricultural and food product range to visitors. “We have been discussing the issue with the Minister of Agriculture, mulling the creation of a company which will search markets for Armenian agricultural products and processed foods," he said. Touring the trade fair, Karapetyan sought to learn more about the challenges facing the sector, urging the companies to prepare and submit to the government concrete proposals.
