"Jessica Jones" hit series season 2 to be helmed entirely by women

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Marvel's Jessica Jones" hires female directors for the upcoming second season, AceShowbiz said. Executive producer and showrunner Melissa Rosenberg has just announced that all episodes in the next sophomore set will be helmed by women.

The producer broke the news during a conference at University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. It's "a conscious decision and it's very important that showrunners do that," she said over the weekend.

The showrunner didn't divulge any tidbit on what to expect from the next season, but she previously said that Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones was still fighting her demons. "She was kind of messed up even before Kilgrave came along," she told Esquire, "and so in season two we can explore what's possible for her moving forward."
