Psychological horror thriller

PanARMENIAN.Net - Universal has unleashed a new trailer for M. Night Shyamalan's psychological horror thriller "Split", AceShowbiz said. The first minute of the video is similar to that of the first trailer. It features James McAvoy's Kevin kidnapping three girls who are portrayed by Anya Taylor-Joy, Jessica Sula and Haley Lu Richardson.

One scene shows the "observant" Casey (Taylor-Joy) asking for help from Hedwig, one of Kevin's personalities who is a 9-year-old boy. "I have a window in my room. Oh that's here. Now it's closed. Now it's open," he says, before angrily adding, "Did you think it was a real window? So you could leave?"

The next minutes of the trailer see Kevin starting to unleash "The Beast", his 24th personality. "You will be in the presence of something greater," he tells the girls. "The world will understand that the beast is real."

Also written by the Oscar-winning filmmaker, Shyamalan, "Split" follows Kevin, a man with at least 23 different personalities, who is compelled to abduct three teenage girls. As they are held captive, a final personality - "The Beast" - begins to materialize.

Set to hit U.S. theaters on January 20, 2017, the psychological thriller also stars Betty Buckley, Brad William Henke, Kim Director, Sterling K. Brown, Sebastian Arcelus and Neal Huff.
