Zarif, Mogherini consider ways to defuse Syrian crisis

PanARMENIAN.Net - European Union (EU) foreign policy chief Federica Mogheriniand Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held talks Saturday, October 29 on ways of tackling the Syrian crisis, Al Manar reports.

During the talks, Zarif welcomed the positive role the EU plays in overcoming the Syrian crisis and expressed Iran’s readiness to have closer cooperation with the Union.

Mogherini arrived in Tehran on Friday night to hold talks with the Iranian officials on regional issues, the situation in Syria in particular.

After Tehran, Mogherini will fly to Riyadh for talks with the Saudi officials.
