Adam DeVine, Jeffrey Tambor to star in “Magic Camp” Disney comedy

PanARMENIAN.Net - Walt Disney Pictures has set Adam DeVine and Jeffrey Tambor to star in the family comedy “Magic Camp”, Variety reveals.

“Mean Girls” director Mark Waters is attached to direct.

The story follows DeVine’s character who is pulled out of retirement by his former mentor and returns as a counselor to the magic camp of his youth hoping to reignite his career. Instead, he finds inspiration in his ragtag bunk of rookie magicians. Tambor will play Roy Preston, the mentor and owner of the magic camp.

Suzanne Todd is attached to produce with production to begin in early December in and around Los Angeles. Dan Gregor and Doug Mand wrote the most recent draft. Steve Martin had penned a previous draft when he was attached to play the mentor, but he is no longer involved with the project.

DeVine was most recently seen in Fox’s comedy “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” and is currently in production on his Comedy Central show “Workaholics.” He also recently wrapped production on the Netflix film “When We First Met” opposite Alexandra Daddario.

Tambor is coming off his second consecutive Emmy win for best actor in comedy series on “Transparent.” He was also recently seen in Ben Affleck’s “The Accountant.” He is repped by Gersh and Burstein Company.
