Billy Crystal, Jennifer Grey join “Untogether” indie

PanARMENIAN.Net - Billy Crystal and Jennifer Grey have joined Untogether, which stars Jamie Dornan, real-life sisters Jemima Kirke (HBO's Girls) and Lola Kirke (Amazon's series Mozart in the Jungle) and Ben Mendelsohn, The Hollywood Reporter reveals.

The indie follows the affair between Andrea (Jemima Kirke), a former teen prodigy turned heroin addict who is trying to be a writer now that she's sober, and Nick (Dornan), a writer who's found success with his memoir of wartime bravery, which sees him showered in wealth and women. Meanwhile, Andrea's little sister, Tara (Lola Kirke), finds her solid relationship with her older boyfriend, Martin (Mendelsohn), shaken when she is drawn to a charismatic rabbi with an even larger age gap.

Best-selling author Emma Forrest is directing the film based on her own screenplay in her feature helming debut.

The project will be financed and produced by new company Sterling Road Films, along with Brandon Hogan of Paradox Pictures. Sterling Road Films is founded by father and son team Vijay and Prakash Amritraj. The banner will team with Paradox Pictures to finance and produce a slate of films for 2016/2017 starting with Untogether.

“We are excited to launch this company with good, strong independent films that will resonate across the world,” said Sterling Road president Prakash Amritraj. “Having followed the growth of Hollywood entertainment over the years worldwide, Sterling Road, in partnership with Brandon Hogan, will produce four films over the next 12 months."

Hogan, Luke Daniels and Scott LaStaiti are producing Untogether, which began principal photography on Oct. 17. Executive producers are Scott Adler, Dana Guerin, Michael Guerin, Greg Scott, Alex Cutler, Jeff Rice, Alan Pao and Christian De Gallegos, who is handling international sales at AFM.

Crystal most recently completed a six-city, 13-date tour of Australia and New Zealand for his show A Hilarious Evening of Comedy with Billy Crystal. His recent film credits include voice work in Monsters University and the feature film Parental Guidance.

Grey is known as the star of iconic film Dirty Dancing. Her recent credits include the TV series Red Oaks and voice work in animated film The Wind Rises.
