New Nokia smartphone images allegedly leak online

PanARMENIAN.Net - Nokia’s plans to re-enter the smartphone market isn’t exactly a secret. The company confirmed last month that they will be at MWC 2017 next year, and one of Microsoft’s execs also seemed to have hinted at a Q2 2017 launch of their devices. Now thanks to recent renderings that have made their way online, the photo below could be the first Nokia device, Ubergizmo said.

According to the rumors, the device in question is known as the Nokia D1C and it is rumored to feature a Full HD display (size unknown) along with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset, 3GB of RAM, and an Adreno 505 GPU. It is also said to sport 32GB of storage, a 13MP rear-facing camera, and an 8MP front-facing camera. Android 7.0 Nougat is rumored to be its operating system of choice.

Back in October, a Geekbench sighting first revealed the device, but a subsequent sighting on GFXBench seemed to suggest that the Nokia D1C is actually a tablet, not a phone. However the recent renderings claim that this is the Nokia D1C, which is admittedly rather confusing, so what gives?

One possibility is that the one of the benchmarks is wrong and that the Nokia D1C is a smartphone. Alternatively the leaked renders could be wrong and while it could be that of an actual Nokia phone, it might not necessarily be the D1C and could be another device, but given the nature of rumors, we guess you’re probably better off taking this with a grain of salt until more concrete information is made available.
