Scarlett Johansson becomes invisible in “Ghost in the Shell” teaser

PanARMENIAN.Net - Paramount Pictures continues to tease fans by releasing another short teaser of "Ghost in the Shell" ahead of the trailer's release this weekend. It sees Scarlett Johansson as the Major who sports the iconic, nude thermoptic suit that makes her invisible, AceShowbiz said.

In the 14-second teaser, the special-ops agent cyborg can be seen punching a bad guy on the shallows. It recreates the famous fight scene from the original 1995 animated movie, which was based on the same source material, Masamune Shirow's manga series of the same name.

Producer Ari Arad previously talked about Johansson's "nude" costume with IGN. "We're not actually trying to pretend she's naked," he explained. "The suit emulates some of the ideas of the panel lines. When you see it the movie you're not meant to think that she's naked."

Directed by Rupert Sanders, "Ghost in the Shell" follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic's advancements in cyber technology.

Written by "Straight Outta Compton" scribe Jonathan Herman, "Ghost in the Shell" is coming to U.S. theaters on March 31, 2017. The action thriller is supported by Takeshi Kitano, Sam Riley, Juliette Binoche, Michael Pitt, Pilou Asbaek, Rila Fukushima and Michael Wincott.
