James Maslow to topline action-comedy “Bachelor Lions”

PanARMENIAN.Net - “Big Time Rush” star James Maslow and Mitchel Musso have been tapped as the leads in the independent action-comedy “Bachelor Lions” from River Rock Films, Variety has learned exclusively.

Paul Bunch is directing from his own script with shooting starting later this month in Los Angeles. Producers are Jack Kavanaugh and R. Scott Reid. Executive producers are Ivan Cohen and John Ryan Jr.

The story centers on the journey of two young men living in Los Angeles and struggling to find themselves in a city where everyone else seems to have it all figured out. The duo are living in the shadows and barely surviving, until a stroke of luck brings together.

Producers plan for a 2017 theatrical release. “Bachelor Lions” is also being shot as a prelude for a planned episodic TV series to air with negotiations under way with several unnamed networks.

Maslow starred in the Nickelodeon program “Big Time Rush” and the music group of the same name. He can be seen next in Benny Boom’s “Wild for the Night.” Credits include Crackle’s “Sequestered,” Lifetime’s “Seeds of Yesterday” and Season 18 of ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars.”

Musso’s credits include Disney Channel movies “Life is Ruff,” “Hatching Pete” and “Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension” and the feature film “Hannah Montana: The Movie.”
