“Community” star Gillian Jacobs joins Adam DeVine in “Magic Camp”November 10, 2016 - 13:10 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Gillian Jacobs is set to star opposite Adam DeVine and Jeffrey Tambor in Disney’s family comedy “Magic Camp”, Variety reports. “Mean Girls” helmer Mark Waters is attached to direct. The story follows DeVine’s character, who is pulled out of retirement by his former mentor, and returns as a counselor to the magic camp of his youth, hoping to reignite his career. Instead, he finds inspiration in his ragtag group of rookie magicians. Tambor will play Roy Preston, the mentor and owner of the magic camp. Jacobs plays Devine’s former partner. Suzanne Todd is attached to produce, with production scheduled to begin in early December in and around Los Angeles. Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah are exec producing. Dan Gregor and Doug Mand wrote the most recent draft of the screenplay. Steve Martin had penned a previous draft when he was attached to play the mentor role, but he is no longer involved with the project. Jacobs received rave reviews for her role in the Netflix series “Love,” which recently wrapped production on its second season. She also recently given glowing reviews her indie pic “Don’t Think Twice.” She also recently shot the New Line comedy “Life of the Party,” starring Melissa McCarthy.
