Antonio Banderas, Toby Sebastian to topline Andrea Bocelli bio

PanARMENIAN.Net - Antonio Banderas, “Game of Thrones” star Toby Sebastian and Jordi Molla are starring in Andrea Bocelli biopic “The Music of Silence” with Michael Radford (“The Postman”) directing, Variety reveals.

Producers are Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi through their Ambi Group and Roberto Sassa via his Picomedia company.

“The Music of Silence,” based on Bocelli’s 1999 memoir, will include songs that Bocelli composed when he was young but have never before been released. Ambi is financing and producing.

“The Music of Silence” will be told from Bocelli’s view in the form of an autobiographical novel, naming his alter ego Amos Bardi. He writes of a loving family that encouraged his musical gifts from an early age, of the blindness that began with glaucoma and became complete after a soccer accident, and his meteoric rise to stardom.

Sebastian will play Bocelli while Banderas will play the role of Maestro. Molla and Luisa Ranieri (“Letters to Juliet”) will play his parents and and Ennio Fantastichini (“Open Doors”) will portray his uncle.

The screenplay was written by Anna Pavignano and Michael Radford in collaboration with Andrea Bocelli. Ambi Distribution is handling global sales.

Principal photography is slated to begin this month in Rome.

Banderas is represented by Paradigm, Media Art Management, and law firm Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum Matlof and Fishman. Molla is represented by Kuranda Management, Troika and Creative Partners Group. Sebastian is represented by United Agents, CAA and management firm Impression Entertainment.
