“American Horror Story” hints at season 7’s theme?

PanARMENIAN.Net - Fans are speculating whether American Horror Story has given a hint at what to expect from season seven’s theme, NME reports.

The sixth season of the FX anthology series concluded this week with a controversial season finale. The rather meta season six focused on the lost colony of Roanoake and included a fictional documentary within it, as well as a faux reality TV show. The likes of Cuba Gooding Jr, Sarah Paulson and Kathy Bates all starred, with Lady Gaga also making a cameo appearance.

The official AHS Twitter account recently posted a short video showing crashing waves, along with the message “Sweet dreams” and caption: “The monsters are all gone. #AHSRoanoke”.

Despite the tweet including the current season’s hashtag, many fans have pointed out how the water has little to do with the current theme, leading to suggestions that it could be a teaser for the next season.

The seventh season’s theme is expected to be announced in spring 2017.

Meanwhile, American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy has also confirmed plans for an upcoming crossover season that will combine season one (Murder House) with season three (Coven).

“We do know what we’re going to do,” Murphy said, according to EW. “It’s not going to be next season, but we are going to do a season that’s a crossover between Murder House and Coven together, which is very bizarre.”

“There will be characters from Murder House and characters from Coven together,” he confirmed. “I’ve started going to actors from both of the seasons, quietly, saying, ‘I think in this window, if you could fit us in’.”

“So yeah, it’s fun. It’s weird,” he added.

The show’s co-creator, Ryan Murphy, recently told the publication that he already had a seventh season mapped out, revealing that ideas for its direction were coming out of the blue.

“It comes to me as it always comes to me,” says Murphy. “I sit up and bed and I say ‘That’s it!’ I have been mulling a couple of ideas and I wasn’t loving it. Then I was thinking of this other thing and I literally sat up and bed and said ‘That’s it!’ Whenever it happens it’s such a relief because it’s so much pressure.”
