Steven Seagal receives Russian passport in Kremlin

PanARMENIAN.Net - Steven Seagal officially owns a Russian passport. A good friend of Vladimir Putin for years, the 64-year-old actor who has relatives in the country receives his passport when the Russian President hosted him in the Kremlin in Moscow on November 25, AceShowbiz said.

"I want to congratulate you and express the hope that this is another, albeit small, gesture and it might be a sign of the gradual normalization of relations between our countries," Putin said, referring to the tension between Russia and America during Obama administration.

"You have many friends in this country and you have professional plans as well," Putin also told the actor in Russian. "Naturally, Russian citizenship and a Russian passport will make it easier for you to meet your friends and carry out your plans."

Following Donald Trump's victory at the November 8 election, Vladimir Putin has been open about his desire to improve U.S.-Russia relations from their "crisis state." Seagal was granted a Russian citizenship earlier this month through a presidential decree.
