Warner Bros. has announced that the DC movie starring Jason Momoa as the titular superhero, which was formerly set for a July 27, 2018 release in theaters across the U.S., is pushed back to October 5, 2018, AceShowbiz said. The upcoming movie will be directed by James Wan, but it's still unclear when the filming will begin. The screenplay is provided by David Leslie Johnson, Will Beall and Kurt Johnstad from Geoff Johns' story treatment. Serving as producers are Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder and Rob Cowan. In addition to Momoa, "Aquaman" has added Amber Heard and Willem Dafoe to its cast. Heard has been tapped to portray the love interest of Aquaman named Mera, while Dafoe is on board to play Nuidis Vulko, who is described as both a friend and foe to the King of Atlantis. Momoa made his debut as Arthur Curry a.k.a. Aquaman in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice". Before appearing in his solo film, the Hawaiian actor will reprise his role as the Atlantean hero in "Justice League", which is set for a November 17, 2017 release.
