Father John Misty previews new songs at Seattle gigDecember 6, 2016 - 16:25 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Father John Misty previewed songs from his forthcoming new album at a benefit concert in Seattle on Saturday night (December 3), NME reports. The songwriter has released two albums under the Father John Misty moniker: 2012’s ‘Fear Fun’ and last year’s acclaimed ‘I Love You, Honeybear’. As Consequence of Sound reports, Father John – real name Josh Tillman – headlined at a Seattle Children’s Hospital benefit concert on Saturday, and took the opportunity to play three never-before-heard songs during an eight-song setlist – a copy of which, retrieved from the gig, revealed that the new songs were called ‘Pure Comedy’, ‘When The God of Love’, and ‘Two Wildly Different’ respectively. The three new songs joined the recently-premiered ‘Holy Hell’ – a political number recently shared by Misty on Soundcloud – on the setlist, while ‘Leaving LA’, which was first played at the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island back in July, also made the setlist. Clips of the new songs were also posted on Instagram by fans following the gig, while one gig atendee reported that Father John told the audience that his new album was finished, “and it was all he could bring himself to play” at the Seattle show.
