“Transformers” star lands key role in “Sicario” sequel “Soldado”

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Soldado" has added young actress Isabela Moner to its cast ensemble. The "Transformers: The Last Knight" star will play a pivotal character in the sequel to 2015's "Sicario" that already has Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin reprising their roles as Alejandro and Matt Graver respectively.

As AceShowbiz reports citing Deadline, the sequel "focuses on Alejandro, the shadowy, Man on Fire-like protagonist and CIA agent Matt Graver, who in the first film established themselves as hellbent on hunting down cartel kingpins, no matter what."

Moner will portray "the stubborn daughter of a drug cartel leader that becomes the center of Matt and Alejandro's undercover operation to provoke a war that her daddy will surely lose." She even took to Twitter to say that she "had to chop off [her] long locks" to portray the said character.

"Soldado" is currently filming, with Stefano Sollima sitting behind the lens. The script is provided by Taylor Sheridan. Oscar nominee Catherine Keener has also joined the cast, but details about her character are still kept under wraps. The movie is expected to arrive sometime next year.
