"How I Met Your Mother" hit sitcom spinoff back in developmentDecember 15, 2016 - 17:16 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Nearing the end of "How I Met Your Mother", CBS was developing a spin-off called "How I Met Your Dad" with a whole new cast. In 2014, the network surprisingly passed on the pilot which had Greta Gerwig on the lead. But now a new spin-off based on the once hit sitcom is reportedly in the works. From "This Is Us" executive producers and writers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, the new project called "How I Met Your Father" is a brand new take on the concept with new characters, AceShowbiz said citing Deadline. It will once again tell the story from a female point of view. Creators of the original series, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, will serve as executive producers with Aptaker and Berger. The script is reportedly still being written and the project doesn't necessarily have to go to CBS. "HIMYM" ran for nine seasons from 2005-2014 on CBS.
