Julia Roberts to star on her 1st TV series “Today Will Be Different”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Julia Roberts is set to star on a limited series called "Today Will Be Different" based on Maria Semple's latest book of the same title. The upcoming gig marks the first regular TV role for Roberts, who was previously seen in HBO's TV movie by Ryan Murphy called "The Normal Heart", AceShowbiz reports.

The limited series, which is produced by Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures, is described as a "hilarious, heart-filled story" about reinvention, sisterhood and how sometimes it takes facing our former selves to truly begin living.

Roberts will play Eleanor Flood, a messy woman who had ambitions to wake up and have the best day of her life. But she is forced to abandon those plans when she finds a strange, new future unfolding.

Semple said, "I'm giddy that Eleanor Flood will be brought to life by Julia Roberts and am elated to collaborate with Megan Ellison, Sue Naegle and the team at Annapurna on this endeavor. This will be a fun ride!"

Roberts will also produce the series through her Red Om Films banner. Semple will pen the adaptation while Ellison and former HBO executive Sue Naegle are serving as executive producers.

No network is currently attached to the hot project.
