New “Alien: Covenant” pic features Katherine Waterston

PanARMENIAN.Net - 20th Century Fox continues its promotional efforts for Ridley Scott's upcoming "Alien: Covenant" by releasing a new still. Making its way out via Entertainment Weekly, the picture shows Katherine Waterston as Daniels, who is getting ready to beat the galactic enemies as she is seen holding a massive firearm, AceShowbiz reports.

In an interview with the site, Scott talked about how the upcoming movie would provide some answers for 2012's "confusing" "Prometheus". " 'Covenant' is really going to show you who did it and why," the director revealed.

Another new image has also landed online on Twitter. Captioned with cryptic number "130112062104," it features what appears to be stasis pods of the Covenant ship, with humans inside them in hypersleep state.

Written by Jack Paglen and Michael Green, the movie is coming to U.S. theaters on May 19, 2017. It sees the return of Michael Fassbender as android David and Noomi Rapace as Elizabeth Shaw. Other cast members include Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, Billy Crudup, Jussie Smollett and Carmen Ejogo.

Previously, it was reported that James Franco was added the cast as Daniels' husband Branson, who is also the captain of the titular spaceship. While promoting his new movie "Why Him?" along with his on-screen soon-to-be father-in-law, Bryan Cranston, the 38-year-old actor confirmed the casting report.

"The news is out, I guess?" he simply told HeyUGuys, trying to remain tight lips about the details.

Set ten years after the event of "Prometheus", the upcoming movie follows a colony ship bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy. The crew discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world - whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
