Courage, commitment, impact: Aurora short film competition launched

PanARMENIAN.Net - Aurora Humanitarian Initiative launches an international short film competition open to all film genres.

The films must express the main selection criteria of the Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity: courage, commitment and impact, the Initiative said in a statement.

"Regardless of state borders, religion, ethnicity and color of skin, dozens of selfless people prove that human life is an irreplaceable value with their actions of courage, saving thousands of lives," it said.

"We expect the films will feature your ideas about humanism, hope, selflessness and belief in the brighter future."

By the selection of professional jury, Aurora Humanitarian Imitative will award $4000 to the author of the best film. 2nd and 3rd places will receive $2000 and $1500 awards, respectively. Authors of the best 5 films will have a unique opportunity to attend Aurora Prize Award Ceremony in Yerevan, Armenia, on May 28, 2017.

"We believe that even in the darkest times, a brighter future is in the hands of those who can give help and hope. We are looking forward to watch your stories reflecting hope, commitment and trust in future," the statement said.

General requirements:

Age: Up to 40 years old

Length of the film: Up to 5 minutes

Genre: Documentary, fiction, animation (3D, 2D), other.

Deadline: March 20, 2017

Films must have been produced no earlier than January 1, 2016.

Films must be submitted by non-public web links of YouTube or Vimeo.
