Tchaikovsky ballet “The Nutcracker” unveiled in new format in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - For the first time in Armenia, Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” (“Shchelkunchik”) ballet was unveiled in a new format with the use of latest technologies.

The authors of the project turned the entire concert hall into a three-dimensional screen and made the hall vibrant with unique animation.

On Wednesday, December 20, the audience had the opportunity to enjoy the famous ballet performed by Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra, at the same time making а virtual journey through the three-dimensional glasses to the “wonderland” created in the concert hall.

Since 2011, the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra has performed this work for a number of times. Owing to the application of state-of-the-art solutions and original presentation, the concert on Wednesday became even more spectacular and impressive. The art director of the concert is artist and director Sukias Torosyan. The organizer of 3D animation project is producer Andranik Torosyan. The concert also featured dances by the State Institute of Choreography of Armenia staged by choreographer, Honorary Artist of Armenia Hovhannes Divanyan.

The General Partner of the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra is VivaCell-MTS.

“The world continues to develop rapidly creating a demand for the application of latest technologies in almost every sphere. It's great to note that our partners have succeeded in doing almost the impossible: they have created a synergy between technologies and classical art. This initiative of the ANPO passes to the audience the art of thinking beautifully,” said VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian.

Ballet “Shchelkunchik” will be presented to the audience in a 3D animation format also on December 24.
