Iran wants to further develop ties with Armenia: PresidentDecember 21, 2016 - 14:27 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran's President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday, December 21 expressed a desire to further develop bilateral relations with Armenia. Rouhani arrived in Yerevan Wednesday and was greeted by President Serzh Sargsyan. A meeting at the Presidential Palace followed after the welcoming ceremony at Zvartnots international airport. Sargsyan said he is hopeful that Rouhani's first official visit as President of the Islamic Republic will give a new impetus to the development of cooperation between the two states. "We are thankful to the Iranian authorities for the considerate attitude towards our relations. We have always been truthful and honest in our relations and are ready to carry on in the same spirit," Sargsyan stressed. Rouhani said, in turn, that Iran considers Armenia a friendly country and desires to further develop bilateral ties.
