Ibrahimovic beats Mkhitaryan to Man United Player of the Month awardJanuary 6, 2017 - 12:31 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Zlatan Ibrahimovic has won the Manchester United Player of the Month award for December to add another gong to his collection, The Metro said. The striker was earlier this week named the PFA Fans Player of the Month after his fantastic run of form that saw him score six goals from seven matches as the Red Devils went undefeated. However he only just managed to win his latest award. The player of the month is decided in a vote by Manchester United fans, with Ibramimovic ending up with 38% of the 140,000 votes. It saw him narrowly beat Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with the Armenian collecting 36%. Considering the incredible scorpion kick goal the winger scored against Sunderland on Boxing Day it was perhaps unsurprising he was in the reckoning. Paul Pogba came third with 26% of the vote. It’s the first time Ibrahimovic, who is the club’s top scorer, has been given the prize since moving to Old Trafford. The previous winners this season have been Antonio Valencia (November), Juan Mata (October), Marcus Rashford (September) and Eric Bailly (August).
