Celine Dion to record a new song for Disney's “Beauty & the Beast” remake

PanARMENIAN.Net - Not that the new Beauty and the Beast movie isn't already exciting enough on its own, but Celine Dion has just added to the anticipation with the best news, Digital Spy said.

The singer has announced she will be performing an original song for the soundtrack to the live-action remake of the Disney classic.

The superstar tweeted the news that is sure to delight everyone everywhere.

She wrote: "I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be performing a new song,"How Does A Moment Last Forever" for Disney's Beauty and the Beast."

Entertainment Weekly reports the new track was written by original Beauty and the Beast composer Alan Menken and lyricist Tim Rice, and it's described as "an emotional ballad about holding onto life's precious moments".

Apparently, the song will run in the final credits as everyone is wiping away their tears.

Celine Dion famously recorded the Beauty and the Beast theme song from the original 1991 Disney animation with Peabo Bryson, which won an Academy Award and three Grammys.

With Angela Lansbury as the wonderful Mrs Potts crooning away to it in the animated classic, it will be difficult to imagine anyone else singing it - that's a lot of pressure on Ariana Grande and John Legend, then.

The pair are recording their own version of the song for the remake, which stars Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as the Beast.

Beauty and the Beast lands in cinemas on March 17 with the soundtrack released on March 10.
