Golden Globe winner Mary-Louise Parker joins “Mr. Mercedes” seriesJanuary 25, 2017 - 14:12 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Mary-Louise Parker has lined up her next TV role. The Golden Globe winner has joined Audience Network's Mr. Mercedes series in a recurring role, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Based on Stephen King's book of the same name, Mr. Mercedes follows a demented killer (Penny Dreadful's Harry Treadaway) who taunts a retired police detective (Brendan Gleeson) with a series of lurid letters and emails, forcing the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he is able to strike again. Parker will play Janey Patterson, the younger sister of the late Olivia Trelawney. Janey's no-nonsense but charming attitude radiates, as does her physical beauty. She's emotionally mature, strong-willed and totally winning. Parker joins a cast that also includes Holland Taylor, Kelly Lynch and Moonlight's Jharrel Jerome. In addition to her award-winning performance on Weeds, Parker is best known for her roles in The West Wing, Angels in America and, most recently, The Blacklist. Parker will next be seen in ABC's gay rights mini When We Rise, which premieres Feb. 27. She is repped by WME. David E. Kelley is penning the adaptation of Mr. Mercedes and will serve as showrunner on the Sonar Entertainment-produced series. Jack Bender (Game of Thrones) is set to direct, and the two will exec produce with Temple Hill Entertainment's Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey. The series is slated to debut this fall on DirecTV and AT&T U-verse. Top stories The creative crew of the Public TV had chosen 13-year-old Malena as a participant of this year's contest.
