NBC renews “The Good Place” Kristen Bell comedy series for season 2

PanARMENIAN.Net - NBC has announced that "The Good Place" is getting a second season renewal. The fantasy comedy series, which hails from "Parks and Recreation" co-creator Mike Schur and stars Kristen Bell and Ted Danson, will return with 13 new episodes, AceShowbiz reports.

"Mike Schur has always had one of the most fertile and imaginative minds in comedy, but what he brought us with the first season of 'The Good Place' was just extraordinary," said NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke in a statement. "We absolutely can't wait to see where these characters go, literally, in season two. A big thank-you to Mike, the writers and cast for delivering a series in which we all take such enormous pride."

"The Good Place" season one ended with an enourmous cliffhanger, with Eleanor (Bell) coming to the conclusion that the "Good Place" was actually the "Bad Place", which Michael (Danson) had created to torment an isolated group of residents. He surrounded them with their insecurities only to let everything hit the fan. But he underestimated the fact that these people would come to get along over time and also that Janet (D'Arcy Carden) would fall in love with one of them. As their memories were reset, Eleanor actually stuffed a note in Janet's mouth that she could retrieve from her down the road.

"The Good Place" is the second freshman series to get a second-season pickup at NBC, following Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia-starring dramedy "This Is Us", which was recently renewed for two more seasons of 18 episodes each.
