PanARMENIAN.Net - Pitch Perfect 3 is getting ready to bust a rhyme with Trinidad James, The Hollywood Reporter reveals.

The rapper is joining the cast for the third installment of the musical comedy franchise from Universal Pictures and Gold Circle Entertainment.

Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson are returning to lead the ensemble of Pitch Perfect 3, which follows the a cappella singing group the Barden Bellas. The cast also includes Hailee Steinfeld, Anna Camp, Ruby Rose and Brittany Snow.

James will play a member of a competing singing group.

Trish Sie will direct the film, which has a script by Kay Cannon, with the most recent draft written by Mike White.

Paul Brooks of Gold Circle Entertainment and Max Handelman and Elizabeth Banks of Brownstone Productions are producing the next installment. Universal vp production Sara Scott is overseeing for the studio.

Pitch Perfect 3 is set for release Dec. 22, 2017.

The Pitch Perfect franchise has previously recruited real-life music talent to appear in the film, including a cappella groups Pentatonix and The Filharmonic and Snoop Dogg.

James, who was born in Trinidad and raised in Atlanta, released his debut single “All Gold Everything” in 2012, and he followed that up with the release of his official debut mixtape, Don't Be S.A.F.E. He signed with Def Jam Records in late 2012, but split with the label in 2014. Universal most recently released the mixtape The Wake Up 2. He is repped by UTA.
