“How I Met Your Mother” creators back at CBS with comedy pilot order

PanARMENIAN.Net - The creators of How I Met Your Mother are back at CBS.

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the network has picked up hybrid comedy Real Life to pilot. The project, written by Hilary Winston (Marry Me, Bad Teacher, Happy Endings, Community, My Name Is Earl), went to pilot last season as My Time/Your Time.

Executive produced by Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, the comedy chronicles the relationship of two twenty-somethings who go from being co-workers on opposite coasts to working in the same office.

HIMYM's Bays and Thomas will exec produce the comedy via their Sony Pictures Television overall deal. The project is a co-production between Sony TV and CBS Television Studios.

The comedy last year starred Jane Levy (Suburgatory), Nicholas Braun and Tone Bell. The project is based on Avital Ash's web series 7P/10E.

Real Life is CBS' third comedy pilot order of the season and first overall from Sony TV this year.

The project brings Bays and Thomas back to CBS following their nine-season run on How I Met Your Mother. The network previously attempted a spinoff, How I Met Your Dad, with the duo, but that did not move forward; a new version is being developed this year but a network has not yet been attached.
