Sarah Paulson may star in Lewinsky-themed “American Crime Story”

PanARMENIAN.Net - One of the next installments of "American Crime Story" would take on Bill Clinton's sex scandal with Monica Lewinsky. Series creator Ryan Murphy revealed that he wanted Sarah Paulson to play Linda Tripp, who secretly recorded Lewinsky's conversation about her alleged affair with the 42nd POTUS, AceShowbiz said.

"I'm very interested and have talked to my good bartender friend Sarah Paulson about playing Linda Tripp," Murphy told Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live". "So, we'll see if she would agree to do that, because I always think of Sarah for everything," added Murphy.

Intriguingly enough, Murphy revealed that he wanted to cast a newcomer to portray Lewinsky. He also said that the former president and Hillary Clinton wouldn't be a huge part of the story because he wanted the series to be more "about the birth of a specific movement in our country."

The second and third season of "American Crime Story" will debut in 2018. Focusing on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the second season will have Annette Bening to play Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco. Meanwhile, the third season will chronicle the 1997 murder of Gianni Versace in Miami. Edgar Ramirez and Darren Criss will portray the legendary designer and his killer Andrew Cunanan respectively in the third installment.
