Stephen King's “Castle Rock” adaptation gets series order at Hulu

PanARMENIAN.Net - Another Stephen King and J.J. Abrams collaboration is coming to Hulu. First teased in a mysterious video last week, the highly-secretive project titled "Castle Rock" has received a 10-episode series order from the streaming service, AceShowbiz said.

According to the official logline, "Castle Rock" is "a psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse" that "combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King's best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland."

It is further described as "an original suspense/thriller - a first-of-its-kind reimagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories."

Castle Rock is a fictional location in Maine which has figured prominently in King's novels, notably "The Dead Zone", "Needful Things" and "Cujo". It is also referenced in several of other King stories like "It" and "Pet Sematary" as well as novella "The Body".

As reported before, each season of the series will "follow different set of characters and storylines while interjecting themes and specific characters from previous seasons."

Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason write and serve as executive producers for the drama series. Abrams and Bad Robot Productions' Ben Stephenson and Liz Glotzer will also exec produce the show. No castings and premiere date are announced for the series yet.
