"Aliens" star Bill Paxton dies at 61, celebs pay tribute on Twitter

PanARMENIAN.Net - Actor Bill Paxton, who has been famously known for his roles in "Aliens", "Titanic" and "Twister", died at the age of 61 on Sunday, February 26. The cause of Paxton's death was listed as "complications from surgery," AceShowbiz said.

"It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery," Paxton's family said in a statement. "A loving husband and father, Bill began his career in Hollywood working on films in the art department and went on to have an illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker. Bill's passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable."

HBO, who worked with Paxton on the award-winning 2006 TV series "Big Love, also released a statement to show their empathy. "We are extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Bill Paxton," the statement read. " 'Big Love' was a seminal series for HBO for many years due to Bill's extraordinary talent and grace. Off screen, he was as warm, smart and fun as one could be. A true friend to so many at HBO. He will be greatly missed."

Soon after the news of Paxton's death broke, many celebrities flooded Twitter with messages to express their condolences and to pay tribute to the late actor. Tom Hanks, Jamie Lee Curtis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Paul Feig, Charlize Theron, Elijah Wood and Aaron Paul were among the celebrities who paid homage to Paxton via the social microblogging site.
