Security and Progress: RPA launches election campaignMarch 6, 2017 - 12:25 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s ruling Republican Party (RPA) kicked off its campaign on Sunday, March 5 ahead of parliamentary elections slated for April 2. “The process of forming a parliamentary system is now in the hands of our citizens,” Armenian President, RPA chairman Serzh Sargsyan said. “As a person leading Armenia’s ruling party, I attach great importance to these elections. We must organize them in a way that leaves no doubts about the freedom, transparency or respect for justice in the whole process.” He said elections “in line with the letter and spirit of the law will be our joint success.” The party is starting off the campaign with the slogan “Security and Progress” as, according to Sargsyan, nothing matters more than the nation’s security.
