“Preacher” supernatural drama announces season 2 premiere date

PanARMENIAN.Net - AMC has announced a premiere date for "Preacher" season 2. The supernatural drama series starring Dominic Cooper will return on a new night, Monday, June 19 at 9/8c on AMC. The second season will contain 13 episodes, upped from the 10-episode season 1, AceShowbiz said.

According to the official description, the second season will follow "God-power possessing West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Cooper) who embarks on a road trip to find the big guy in the sky with his loose cannon girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga) in shotgun and Irish vampire Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) in the backseat. However, along the way the trio have no choice but to drive through parts of Hell, with the Saint of Killers hot on their tail."

Along with the premiere date, a batch of photos from season 2 have been unleashed. It was recently reported that Noah Taylor, Pip Torrens and Julie Ann Emery would join the show as series regulars, while Malcolm Barrett, Ronald Guttman and Justin Prentice were cast in recurring roles.

Developed by Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen and Sam Catlin based on comic book series of the same title by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, "Preacher" debuted to 4.21 total viewers and a 1.7 rating in adults 18-49 demo after counting DVR viewers.

The show will be heading to SXSW in Austin, TX with Catlin, Rogen and Ennis participating in a panel discussion on Saturday, March 11 at 2 P.M.
